About this event

Join us for a free 1 hour chiropractic CE course that provides an evidence-based overview of chronic pain prevalence, underlying mechanisms, and limitations of conventional treatment approaches, including nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and opioid medications. Participants examine the pathophysiology of acute and chronic pain, including neuroinflammation, central sensitization, and immune system involvement.

The course further explores the mechanisms of action and clinical research supporting botanical and nutritional interventions such as curcumin and boswellia, including their effects on inflammatory pathways (e.g., NF-κB, cytokine signaling, and 5-lipoxygenase pathways). Additional supportive nutrients and integrative strategies are discussed in the context of musculoskeletal and inflammatory pain conditions.

Learning Objectives

After completing this webinar, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the scope and impact of chronic pain in the United States.
  • Recognize key safety considerations associated with NSAID use and other conventional pain-relief approaches.
  • Understand the scientific and clinical evidence for curcumin, boswellia, and black sesame oil in supporting a healthy inflammatory response and pain management.
  • Incorporate botanical formulations into individualized nutrient and botanical protocols for patients.
